Ho, Ho, Gramma? A Miles gem retold by Angela
So, my mom has come down for a day or two every so often over the last few weeks & as most good grandparents do (ahem, can't help themselves), she has been packing gifts with her. Of course, like every good grandchild, Miles & Dane & Sophie have come to love her arrival for what it may bring. :)
So, before this most recent visit, Miles was talking with Angela & Gramma's visit was one of the topics. Out of the blue he mentioned that Gramma "always brings me presents!" Angela agreed. To which Miles added, "Who is she? Santa?!"
Gotta love kids :)

When I was married to Saul's father, his mother, Adele would come over and always bring a gift. I never understood that at the time--though I have a couple of them to this day.
I love finding silly things that the gang at 2008 Trinity can have fun with and I choose those that I figure will not make anyone cry if they get broken, and will be the same for all of them so there are no screams and hair-pulling.
I do like bringing books, and they all like them too. So we go through phases of phrases like excerpts from "The Cat and the Fiddle" and "Belly Buttons" which cause huge laughs from the little ones (and me). Even this last weekend's book that Miles and I bought (a compliation of Pixar movies) led to putting the CD in his "boom box." He thought my calling it a boom box was the funniest thing he'd ever heard. So that alone was worth the price of the book.
The other thing as an oblivious 21-year-old that I didn't understand about Adele was that she swept the kitchen floor after dinner at her house...now, as an older clean freak, I sweep the floor after dinner.
